CITB Grants Scheme
The CITB Grants Scheme provides grants for employers in the construction industry to train their workers; therefore, helping to maintain health and safety standards on construction sites and ensure that the right skills are available for the industry to grow.
CITB’s new Grants Scheme came into effect on 1 April 2018 and it’s now easier than ever to claim because your Approved Training Organisation (ATO) does it for you!
See the grants available here.
Short duration course achievement grants
CITB pay grants for the achievement of approved short duration courses; which last from 3 hours to 29 days and that are focused on the core construction skills needed across the industry.
Many of the courses we offer are grant-eligible. Click here to see our course list or call 0151 545 0497 to discuss anything further.
Who can claim a grant?
You can claim grants if you are an employer registered with CITB and you send a Levy Return by 30 November each year. Grants are not paid to individual employees. If you are an employee, you can ask your employer if they are registered with CITB so they can get a grant for your training.
Small employers that don’t need to pay the levy can still claim grants.
When will I receive my grant?
You will usually receive your grant money within four weeks of your ATO submitting a claim if the claim is successful. Grants are paid by bank transfer. If CITB does not hold your current bank details, you can update them by completing CITB’s secure online Bacs Direct Credit Authorisation Form to receive grant payments.
Please note: some claims are unsuccessful. Read about grant decisions and how to appeal.
