Health & Safety Award 2016 – Seatruck Ferries
Our Health & Safety award is presented to one of our member companies who has shown outstanding performance throughout the year. This year we would like to congratulate Seatruck Ferries on their proactive approach to health & safety in the workplace!
The operation of Seatruck Ferries involves hundreds of thousands of vehicle movements each year. These are undertaken 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The only exception is when horrendous weather is forecast.
Following an incident in Dublin, it was thought that the existing safety management system did not provide suitable protection for employees and contractors engaged by Seatruck Ferries. Courtley were engaged to review the existing management system and particularly how it could be improved to provide protection to all stakeholders in the business.
The business has built a close relationship with their contactors over many years. This has been important for the success of the company as there is a need for reliability.
Many organizations depend on the service to deliver their goods on both sides of the Irish Sea.
With the support of every member of staff at Seatruck we have established meaningful safety systems and continue a proactive approach including regular safety meetings at Dublin, Heysham , Warrenpint and Liverpool, training matrix reviews and safety audits. We thank all involved for the continual support and proactive attitude towards health and safety. Well done!
