PASMA and Children in Need come to Courtley
Posted on November 14, 2014
Britain’s lead mobile tower trade association, PASMA, is coming to Liverpool to raise money for Children in Need and promote scaffold towers, at a time when falls from height are still the main cause of death at work.
As part of PASMA’s Tower Week, which spotlights the work towers can do and their role in keeping people who work at height safe; PASMA Chairman Chris Blantern is visiting as many of the association’s training centres as possible, including Courtley (Health & Safety Ltd) Ltd on Monday 17 November.
Chris will be accompanied by Pudsey Bear, who will be climbing up and posing on a tower at each stop. You can sponsor Chris and Pudsey by visiting their Just Giving page or by texting PASM99 to 70070. You can also track their progress around the country on PASMA’s Tower Week website.
While preparing to set off, Chris said: “Children in Need keeps children safe and sound while they’re growing up, and PASMA helps keep them that way when they grow up and enter the workplace.
“Each goes that extra mile to safeguard and protect life by doing great work. Both believe it’s what you do that counts, which is why PASMA is supporting this year’s Children in Need appeal through Tower Week.”
Other activities happening during Tower Week will be centred on the website, which will host a quiz and Tower Test; the association are giving a £1 to Children In Need for every test completed.
There is also the ‘Tragically Terrible / Truly Terrific Towers’ social media campaign, which asks members of the public to send in pictures of them using towers. You can send pictures to [email protected] or post them to PASMA’s Facebook page. Pictures will be ranked out of 10 by experts and posted along with this rating on the association’s Facebook page.
Finally, Tower Week will be marked by the release of the latest Tower Safety Packs, which provide a wealth of knowledge vital to working at height. This year’s packs will be sent free of charge to anyone who takes the Tower Test on the Tower Week site.
