Courtley Health & Safety Award 2018 Winners – Spectrum Drylining Ltd
Posted on January 8, 2019
Every year we choose one organisation that has shown outstanding commitment to raising standards of workplace safety and has a positive health and safety culture, to be presented with our prestigious Courtley Health & Safety Award.
The award is not only to recognise the effort the organisation has made over the last 12 months but is also a small way for us to thank them for making the world a safer place.
2018 Health & Safety Award Winner
The very deserving winner of our 2018 Health & Safety Award is Spectrum Drylining Ltd. Spectrum Drylining Ltd is a company based in the North West who specialise in providing bespoke contracting services. This includes all areas of interior fit-outs, from metal stud partitioning to suspended ceilings.
On many of the project Spectrum work on, they are employed as a specialist contractor. This means collaboration with many different companies. Who each have their own different standards for managing on-site health and safety.
As an organisation, Spectrum is constantly engaged with Courtley and always ensure their employees are trained to the latest nationally recognised standards through the CITB and other well-known bodies. This means Spectrum can ensure best practices are followed on any projects they are involved with.
Why Spectrum are our Winners
We have worked with Spectrum since 2015 and they have always shown a positive and proactive approach to health and safety. Over the past year, we feel they have gone the extra mile.
Spectrum has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring competence and excellence across all levels of the organisation. A large part of this has been through increased training of their workforce.
During these training sessions, delegates from Spectrum always engage well and attempt to make positive contributions to the learning experience.
As well as being regular attendees at our face fit testing open days; during 2018, we have trained 16 delegates from Spectrum across a range of different subjects, including:
- CITB Directors Role for Health & Safety
- Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
- Asbestos Awareness
- Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)
We believe Spectrum is not just a great role model for their own industry, but for any organisation looking to improve the standards of health and safety within their business. The management team are constantly looking for ways to review and improve their performance.
This is often evident during routine site visits. When areas for improvement are identified, these improvements are put in place as quickly as possible; ensuring potential issues are swiftly resolved.
Congratulations to Spectrum Drylining Ltd, winners of the Courtley Health and Safety Award 2018!
