Overview: The SSSTS refresher course raises awareness of trends within the HSE’s direction of enforcement and bring attendees’ health & safety knowledge up-to-date. It gives an overview of the legislative changes that may impact their workplace which have taken place since they completed the 2-day Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).

Who Needs to Take the Refresher Training Course?
This course is aimed at first line managers who have supervisory responsibilities, but already hold a CITB Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme certificate. If your certificate is due for expiry, you must take this course before the expiry date to avoid needing to retake the full 5 day course.
How Long does the SSSTS Refresher Certificate Last?
Taking the SSSTS refresher course extends your accreditation by 5 years. You must attend this course before your current certification expires, or you will be require to retake the full Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme training course.
What Does the SSSTS Refresher Course Involve?
Competence
The SSSTS refresher course covers a wide range of topics which have been affected by the changes to procedures built upon the material in the original course. Candidates will note a raised awareness of recent development in construction, legislation, health and safety, waste, environmental issues and measures that support the implementation of their responsibilities under new legislation and be competent to:
- Implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation affecting their supervisory role;
- Implement new guidance and industry best practice affected by changes;
- Fulfill their responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and the environment.
How Much Does the SSSTS Refresher Course Cost?
The 1 day Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme Course costs £180 plus VAT. Or £197 plus VAT including paper copies of the GE706 & GT700 publications.
